Hertz Temper Tantrum

I recently went to Hertz to inquire about renting a car for overseas visitors that were staying with us and wanted to travel around the lower South Island.
Unfortunately I walked into what I can only describe as a 3yrolds temper tantrum being thrown by the manager at her staff. This went on for a few minutes before I got to embarrassed to wait any longer and left.
My advice to Hertz, anger management courses for your manager, and maybe a louder bell on your door so you can hear potential customers coming in so you don't embarrass yourselves again.

Yikes

Your experince doesn't quite tally with the experiences I have ever had from the Dunedin Hertz Branch. I have always had great service! The manager has never struck me as the type to have tantrums. Maybe you struck a really bad day for her??!!

One chance...

You have one chance in sales to make an impression and this behaviour is not acceptable to anyone, let alone the owner of the Hertz Dunedin branch.
HOWEVER, bad-mouthing someone in this cowardly manner is not on. Why didn't you have the good manners to voice your distaste to the manager and give her the opportunity to explain or make-good? If no joy, then you have the right to state your position publicly, as you would then have a legitimate story to tell.
WOMF should not turn into a free-for-all whinge-session for those too lazy to confront those they feel have not behaved in an appropriate manner...

bpwilliams....

bpwilliams, the WOMF title says, "learn from other consumers experiences" unfortunately not all experiences are good, if I'd of walked into the Hertz office and received exceptional service I'd of probably WOMF'd that as well, but I found myself at the other end of the scale.
I look forward to reading the multiple replies you write to everyone else that has commented on bad service on WOMF without 1st "voicing there distaste"

Ty75 - Temper Tantrum @ Hertz

Hi
This WOMF has been shared with me. I am the manager of Hertz here in Dunedin. I have to say I am stunned by TY75's experience. I have been racking my brains trying to think of anything that's occured that is even close to your experience. I'm afraid I can't. But your comment is no less valid just because I can't recall the incident.
However, I can only but apologise for what sounds like a less than great experience. We are a small team here in Dunedin, and we all get on really well - it really isn't in my nature to treat staff in such a manner. I have been quite distressed about your comment. All I can do is be very conscious of my actions, and how those actions may be perceived by potential customers. I've "learned from other consumers experiences" I guess you could say
BP Williams - you are right - in sales, first impressions are all - there is little chance to redeem yourself once the impression has been made. It sounds like I've blown it in this instance.
