I looked up womf after seeing some advertising some place for it and so far as i can tell its some kind of online place for moaning losers to hang out, probably while they're at work getting paid, to give people a hard time for not doing a perfect job at their place of work. I think everyone that wants to have someting to say about a service or product on womf should as a matter of human spirit, say where they work, so anyone that feels like it can go and rate the critics work first hand also. after all, the reality is that what people say on this fourim may have a direct effect on the business they complain about. so lets all grow up. just for the record I work at Otago University.

i dont take much notice of the whiners on womf, i imagine most of them love this site as it doesnt involve direct contact with the business involved... i dont think its fair to make a negative comment on here unless you gave the business the chance to rectify whatever issue you the consumer had with them!
there are many small-medium locally based businesses in dunedin, and i would say close to all of them would and do bend over backwards to keep their customers happy.
word of mouth is a powerful thing, esp for small business that dont do a lot of advertising.
big ups to everyone using this online forum as it should be used! its a great tool for the average joe bloggs like me :)

Hi Getalife. You have some awefully good points (I'm Judi from Animal Attraction).
Who makes sure that businesses in competition with another, can't place negative WOMFs? It could potentially harm a small business badly but I don't agree that it's a place for 'moaning losers to hang out'.
It is sad though, that businesses can be harmed by 'anyone' at all, no matter who they are, how genuine they are, etc, etc.
What solution is there to make sure that the site is totally 'fair' to everyone - none that I can see . . .

Firstly, Getalife---as you will see we have removed 4 of your postings as they are not appropriate, breach the terms and conditions, they have been returned via email to you. Either abide by the terms and conditions of the site or we will have no option to ban you from the site. Partly for your own good. But mostly due to the nature of the content. Play nice!!!!!.
Secondly, Judij---as far as we are aware there has not been any negative womfs from competing businesses. This is just one of the many aspects we keep a close eye on. We encourage positive comments, but any criticism a business may recieve is usually good for them to know, so they have the opportunity to correct any problems, and be a better business. We can confirm that positive womfs far outnumber the negative. Thank you for all your great womfs.

The idea of this site is to praise the good, and point out the bad so businesses and individuals have the opportunity to make themselves beta. Im an open minded individual that would not go somewhere just coz someone else had a bad experience. I will make my own judgement before continuing or not returning to a business.
You say people should grow up, well take a leaf out of your own book stop the harrassment, the excessive profanity or obscenity and stop chucking your own mcdonalds toys out of your own cot!

i really mean it. but are you giving me a hard time when you say "stop throwing ....." because thats worse than anything Iv ever said on womf to anyone, so maybe you should moderate your self a little. hope you had a good fathers day and you enjoyed the sun.

When i said "stop throwing..." that was nothing compared to your harrassment and excessive obscenities. Each individual is entitled to their opinion and thats what it is THEIR opinion.
If people have a bad experience at a restaurant they dont need to hear someone like yourself telling them to go to mcDonalds so they can get toys in the happy meals.
If you have had a good experience at this particular place we would rather hear you tell us about it or not say anything at all!

Yeah Liambear I agree, the whole point of this site is for people to share their experiences - good or bad. Let's face it, if a business or the service at that business sux the customers will wise up and leave eventually regardless of what someone else says, and vice versa they will stay if they think it's worth it. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?
